The Red Shore Crab (also called the Red Crab) is a very common animal seen around the Great Sandbar. These are generally passive but will actively pursue food if they feel. Most crabs burrow in the sand during the day to keep cool, and emerge at night to feed in large groups.
Red Crabs have bright crimson shells and symmetrical body structure, with a hard outer chitin and soft underbelly. Their claws are strong and sharp, but mostly used for picking through flotsam and swatting at opponents. Their size and armor fends off most would-be predators.
